CALL TO ORDER
President Jael Regis called the annual meeting to order at 5:04 p.m.
ATTENDANCE
Attending were President Jael Regis, Treasurer Ann VanDielen and Secretary Rose Kalamarides. Also attending were Connie Long, Chuck Wilson, Jada Regis, Rick Scoles, Heidi Murphy, Jim Murphy and Joe Murphy.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
President Jael Regis reviewed the minutes of the meeting of November 28, 2017 and the agenda for the December 19, 2017 meeting.
MOTION
MSP to approve the minutes of November 28, 2017, and the agenda for December 19, 2017, as presented.
TREASURER’S REPORT
Ann Van Dielen presented the Treasurer’s report, for the period November 15, 2017 through December 18, 2017, indicating The Treasurer’s report showed a balance of $6,789.40 as of December 18, 2017, with income of $800.00 and expenses of $1,228.15.
MOTION
MSP to approve the Treasurer’s Report of December 18, 2017, as presented.
Treasurer Van Dielen also presented requests for reimbursement including $124.32 for dump fees to Diane Wilson, $48.46 to Northport Hardware and $30.59 to Rose Kalamarides for stationary.
MOTION
MSP to approve payment of the expenses as presented.
OLD BUSINESS
Welcome Center
Status Report
Jada Regis reviewed the status of the Welcome Center. The electrical inspection was passed so electricity is now operational. An electric furnace has been provided by Chuck Wilson and installation is pending. He also reviewed the plans, specifically the design of the ADA access and a new wooden porch at the kitchen entrance. The windows will need replaced with energy efficient windows. Rose will get quotes for replacement windows.
Volunteers
A work day was scheduled for January 6, 2018 beginning at 10 a.m.
Diane and Ann will work together to create a release form for volunteers to sign. The group discussed the idea of an application for volunteers to complete to gather a list of names, numbers and skill sets. They also discussed methods to recruit volunteers.
Rose reported that the State will cover volunteers under Worker’s Compensation for medical only. The Society must first obtain a business license and then submit an application to obtain coverage for volunteers. She will file for a business license and once received, will submit the application for Elective Coverage of Excludable Employment.
Artisans
Jael reported that the Colville artisan cooperative had dissolved and that they want to donate surplus funds to the Northport Historical Society.
Fund Raising
The group discussed future fund raising. Jael and Diane will edit the business list and give to Rose to prepare a mailing with a cover letter to businesses.
Policies and Procedures
Ann reported that she is working on policies regarding use of volunteers and policies specifically for the Board, such as a commitment form.
Website
Jada Regis reported that he had been adding old photos to the website.
NEW BUSINESS
Lifetime Memberships
The group discussed the contributions by Connie Long and Art Paine and reached a consensus.
MOTION
MSP to grant lifetime memberships to Connie Long and Art Paine.
Non-Profit Board Training
Ann and Rose reported on the attendance at the training held December 13, 2017.
Northport Tourism Tax Fund
The group discussed requesting funds from the local tourism fund and decided to wait to request funds until an offer was secured on the lots or an annual operating budget was established.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:04 p.m.
The next scheduled meeting will be December 19, 2017, Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at the Christian Ed Building.
