CALL TO ORDER
President Jael Regis called the meeting to order at 5:18 p.m.
Attending were President Jael Regis, Vice President Diane Wilson and Secretary Rose Kalamarides. Also attending were Rick Scoles, Janet Cwalinski, Aimee Kowell, Jim Murphy and Jada Regis.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES AND AGENDA
President Regis reviewed the minutes of the meeting of June 26, 2018 and the agenda for the July 24, 2018 meeting.

Welcome Center Status Report
Rick Scoles reviewed the progress of the project to restore the exterior of the house. He said that the front is almost completely stripped and ready to prime and that Doug and Maggie Crabtree would be here for several days beginning August 5, to glaze the windows. Jada explained that the concrete steps on the front and the old porch decking were removed, the foundation restored and that the porch would be decked with new decking. He also said he was making all new bases for the pillars. Rose Kalamarides said that Paul Kuyava with Grizzly Construction was going to examine the roof and provide an estimate for a roof replacement.
Secretary Kalamarides explained that the application for the exemption on the Welcome Center was filed and Chris Baker, the State Assessor would do a site visit on August 2, 2018.
Secretary Kalamarides explained that the newsletter was ready to go and all that was lacking was the business listing. Jael Regis said she would provide the list.
Rose Kalamarides reported that The Heritage Network has approved a request for a $1,000 grant for the exterior painting and presented a check in that amount at their meeting on July 16, 2018. Diane reported on her grant writing progress.
Rose volunteered to make a volunteer recruitment poster to be posted around Northport.
Ann VanDielen arrived at 5:50 p.m.
Policies and Procedures
Ann VanDielen reviewed the Volunteer Service Agreement and said that Washington State has recently published a new non-profit handbook which she is currently reviewing.
Jada Regis said that he needed the 2018 minutes to post to the website.
Ann VanDielen presented the Treasurer’s report, for the period June 26, 2018 to July 23, 2018. The Treasurer’s profit and loss statements showed income of $2,259.66 and expenses of $ 521.03 for net income of $1,690.21. She also reviewed the balance sheet as of July 23, 2018. Total assets and liabilities are $76,293.19
Treasurer VanDielen also presented a list of bills to be approved for reimbursement of totaling $508.12. She also presented and reviewed the petty cash fund activity as of June 25, 2018, which has a current balance of $110.46.
MSP to approve the Treasurer’s Report of July 23, 2018, as presented with attachments to be included with the minutes.
Aimee Kowell discussed the idea of a Junior Historical Society to engage children about the history of Northport.
Rose Kalamarides said she was pursuing the rezoning of the Welcome Center lots from residential to commercial, necessary for the operation of the Welcome Center.
Ann VanDielen told a story about Bill Phiffer who worked for her Grandfather.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:30 p.m.
The next scheduled meeting will be August 28, 2018 Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at the Welcome Center.
